The Popular Show Season Four Unveils the Fighters Group

From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master Brennan Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with deep backstory, a diverse cast of characters, and a gripping narrative showcasing celestial beings, evil spirits, and dark forces growing in power within Dol-Makjar.

Note: Spoilers for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 are included.

The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed

The latest chapter finished on a dramatic pause and introduced the first table of adventurers who will branch out from the main group to undertake their independent quest, apart from the remaining groups.

This warrior group includes Teor (played by Travis Willingham), the agile character (Laura), Tyranny (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).

The Reason for Division

Considering an extensive roster, it was clear from the start that having everyone at one table would be unworkable.

This explains, the initial installments of this story serve as an Prelude, intertwining the personal journeys before dividing into three smaller tables: Warriors, Strategists, and Questers.

What Defines the Soldiers Table

According to the Dungeon Master, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who are drawn to a classically intense battle-oriented gameplay experience where diplomatic options are few and far between.

Upon first impression, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might look unsuited, but the developments of episode 3 make it clear why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.

Reasons to Leave

To begin with, the team has a clear idea where to head next after a brutal first encounter with the antagonists.

A former ally of Thjazi—whose death initiated the story’s plot—manipulated the enemy for his personal gain, invading the hidden lair, assaulting Thimble, and stealing all the magical artifacts to sell off.

Casimir then paid off his obligations and fled to a secure base in the remote area, above Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.

Personal Motivations

Moreover, each adventurer has a individual motive to leave the city the metropolitan area:

  • The rogue, as the companion and closest confidant, seeks revenge.
  • The knowledgeable figure is familiar with the region and warns that it is a dangerous location.
  • Tyranny and The cleric, having resisted his relatives’ demands to eliminate the fighter and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
  • However, their reputation as important members in House Halovar could help the group enter places they usually can’t.
  • Moreover, Teor vowed a life debt to The cleric for his rescue and will now follow him wherever.

Wanted and Hunted

Finally, all of them are sought by the rulers that rule the city for a range of causes, making staying in the city no longer safe:

  • Thimble and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
  • The strong figure and Wicander betrayed House Halovar and the legion of demons they are allied with.
  • The target is wanted dead by the family.

This results in them little choice but to travel to the northern region in pursuit of Casimir.

Upcoming Developments

From episode three’s post-show segment, we learn that the Soldiers table will be absent next week, leaving the remaining eight players to round up the Questers and Schemers parties.

Audiences can look forward to finding out which adventurers will be in which group in Campaign 4’s final introductory chapter, released on next week.
